    ARBOR DAY EVENTS:

    Holiday Island Tree City

Holiday Island Tree City Program celebrated National Arbor Day by planting a 17-foot cherry tree by the restrooms at the 15th green on the 18-hole golf course.

Residents of Holiday Island make these plantings possible by money dropped in the Holiday Island Tree City donation cans located at Sun Fest grocery store, both golf pro shops and the Back Porch Restaurant. A special thanks to the people of this community for helping to maintain this most beneficial program. For information on this program, contact Dottie Hill 253-5821. Click here for pictures.

    Garden Club

    Ozarks Honor Flight

Holiday Island resident and BOC Chair, Linda Griswold, was chosen to be a guardian for WWII Navy Veteran Max Calkin from Harrison, AR. It was a one day trip to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Linda lost an uncle in WWII who was a B-17 Bomber pilot so when she was given the opportunity to accompany a veteran, she was honored. This whole experience was truly one that leaves me lacking for words. It was quite emotional but rewarding. We, as Americans, do truly owe our freedom to the men and women who have served or are serving in our armed forces. Click here to view photos.
