Ozarks Honor Flight
Holiday Island resident and BOC
Chair, Linda Griswold, was chosen to be a guardian for WWII Navy Veteran Max
Calkin from Harrison, AR. It was a one day trip to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday,
April 17, 2012. Linda lost an uncle in WWII who was a B-17 Bomber pilot so when
she was given the opportunity to accompany a veteran, she was honored. This
whole experience was truly one that leaves me lacking for words. It was quite
emotional but rewarding. We, as Americans, do truly owe our freedom to the men
and women who have served or are serving in our armed forces. Click
