NEWS FROM THE REC CENTER

February 2011 has been named the most historical weather conditions ever in the Ozarks. As for me, I hope this is the first and last time we see that amount of snow and cold. The warm up is making a memory of the snow. Let’s all think Spring!

Recreation Center hours are now 9am to 4pm weather permitting. Remember the golf course opens at 10am on Monday only.

Due to the snow, the HIFDA Souper Sunday event had to be postponed. They will schedule another date for this event. The Friends of the Barn did have their Valentine Dinner Dance on February 12^th and it was a welcome change from being cooped up with “cabin fever”. A very good time was had by all.

March is just around the corner and ushers in the excitement of Spring. The Friends of the Barn will be holding their member potluck afternoon luncheon on Sunday, March 13^th. Clubs and organizations will be starting up again so make sure you check our monthly event calendar.

The recreation staff is working on activities and events for the summer. If you have any suggestions or would like to volunteer for any, please give us a call at 253-9890.
