HOLIDAY ISLAND HIKERS
April-May 2012
Schedule Hike Ratings: Easy = paved & mostly
level, Moderate = natural paths requiring stamina to climb hills. I recommend hiking boots and poles for
paths. Arkansas paths are full of rocks and tree roots. Keep in mind that
walking in woods in winter is usually quite pleasant in spite of the cold.
Always bring water
We plan to hike, rain or shine, ice & snow.... NO GO. The Rec Center is located at Holiday Island 9-Hole Golf Course. If hike leader needs to cancel a hike, a call should be made to Hike Coordinator Connie Stielow at 253-7931 or cell at
414 -861-0289. (Call me at least one hour
before designated meeting time if weather conditions are questionable.) Please
check email updates from hihikers@yahoo.com.
Call Connie Stielow at 253-7931 if you'd like to hike at any time besides Mondays. Several of us occasionally

Questions about schedule
should be directed to Connie Stielow, Hike Coordinator at 479 253-7931.
Everyone is welcome to join us. We usually celebrate the completion of each hike with a visit to a nearby restaurant.
Recommendations are welcome) We also carpool at the meeting
point so we should all take
turns driving or else make
a donation for gas. Drivers with four-wheel drive autos are especially
helpful
for certain
hikes.
Try scouting out some new hikes for the fall schedule. We'll restart in October. Connie
